Effect:

The magician displays three different-colored silk handkerchiefs tied several inches apart on a stiff ribbon. 

A member of the audience is invited to call out the color of any one of the silks, and the chosen silk visibly unknots itself and falls to the floor! 

This can then be repeated until all of the silks fall to the floor.
