What is a "diamond cut" silk? 

It is a silk scarf that has been specially cut and hemmed for use by magicians. 

Rather than being made in the shape of a square, it is shaped like a diamond. 

This way it appears to be bigger and longer than it actually is. 

A 12" diamond cut silk seems to be as large as a standard 18" silk. 

Yet, because it is only a 12" silk, it will fit into a thumb tip and other small gimmicks.

This makes it possible to do many strong effects in a simple manner!
