The Split Deck
Effect
After presenting the audience with a "regular" deck emphasizing the diagonal cut through the entire deck, the performer asks two volunteers to pick half a card (what a way to "cut" the cards!) Each volunteer picks from opposite sides of the deck and the performer then tries to predict what cards the volunteers have chosen. He records his prediction on a hidden sheet of paper. When the two half cards are joined together, they are matches, and form a complete card! When the performer reveals his prediction sheet he predicted the same card!
